  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking powder

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  • In another bowl, mix the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until combined.
  • Fold in the cherries, ensuring even distribution throughout the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Let the brownies cool before slicing into squares.

Notes

  • For a fudgier texture, slightly underbake the brownies.
  • Use fresh cherries for juiciness or dried cherries for a chewy texture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
