Learn how to make perfectly crispy frozen asparagus in an air fryer in just 10 minutes! This quick and healthy side dish is easy to prepare and pairs wonderfully with any main course.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb frozen asparagus spears
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional toppings: grated Parmesan cheese, lemon zest, or balsamic glaze

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  • Rinse the frozen asparagus under cold water to remove any ice crystals. Pat dry with a paper towel.
  • In a mixing bowl, toss the asparagus with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika (if using), salt, and pepper.
  • Place the asparagus in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding for even cooking.
  • Cook for 7-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Check for doneness: the tips should be crispy, and the stems tender but firm.
  • Remove and serve immediately. Add optional toppings like Parmesan cheese, lemon zest, or balsamic glaze for added flavor.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, cook at 400°F for 5-8 minutes, but monitor closely to prevent burning.
  • If cooking in batches, keep the cooked asparagus warm in a low-temperature oven.
  • Medium-sized spears work best for even cooking.
