Ingredients
Scale
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Vegetable oil for frying
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
1 tbsp sriracha (optional)
Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
In a bowl, soak the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
In another bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
Remove shrimp from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then coat in the flour mixture.
Fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha to create the Bang Bang sauce.
Once shrimp are cooked, toss them in the Bang Bang sauce until well coated.
Serve immediately, garnished with chopped green onions.
Notes
For extra crunch, double fry the shrimp.
Adjust the spiciness of the sauce by adding more or less sriracha.
Can be served over rice or in tacos for a different twist.
