GOLDEN SYRUP SPONGE

SLOW COOKER GOLDEN SYRUP SPONGE

Ingredients:

  • 4oz margarine
  • 4oz caster sugar
  • 4oz self raising flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Golden syrup

GOLDEN SYRUP SPONGE

 

Method:

  1. Cream margarine, sugar & vanilla extract
  2. Add 2 eggs and beat well
  3. Sieve flour and fold in well
  4. Lightly grease a pyrex bowl
  5. Pour a generous helping of golden syrup in the bottom of pyrex bowl
  6. Add cake mixture
  7. Fill slow cooker half way up the bowl with water
  8. Put either kitchen towel or tea towel under lid
  9. Cook on high for 2 hours.
    Indulge with custard.
